L-7LINES AND EXPRESSIVE WORD ART

THE LINES IN DESIGN

Lines are one of the most essential elements in creating a design.  They are effectively used in separating or creating a space between other elements or to provide a central focus.

The direction, weight, and character of a line can convey different states of emotions and evoke various reactions.

Lines communicate ideas without words. Lines are suggestive. Lines can speak! Lines can measure!

Look around you. Jets leave lines in the sky. Straws in sodas are an example of lines. Toothpicks are short straight lines. Your shoelace is an undulating line! You have lines on your fingertips. Highways and roads and rivers are lines on a mapBe a LINE watcher!

Lines are everywhere!

COLOURS AND EMOTIONS

TASK:
Create a piece of artwork centered around one word which they had to express on your paper with lines, pattern, and color.
1st STEP:
Write your word large on your page in block/bubble letters.
TIP:
You start by writing the word normally on your piece of paper (large enough to fill the space) -- as seen in red. Then you outline each letter with an evenly distributed border -- as seen in black. Once you are done outlining the letters, all you have to do is erase the original letter lines and outline in sharpie!

2nd STEP:

Add lines, patterns, and colors to your paper AROUND your word with thin-tip markers  to help express the meaning of their word!
